"Magic Helmet" - (SJ21.23)
In 2021 I participated SculptJanuary to force myself to practice sculpting thoroughly.
I was lucky that nothing got in my way that month, so I was able to sculpt all 31 topics. Most in January, the last in early February...
"Magic Helmet" was the topic of SculptJanuary 2021 Day 23.
An owl in love with a magic helmet...here it happened! :-)
To begin with, I appended the helmet from Day 16 ("Melting Armor"), That made it a little easier... The rest was pure fun.
I started modeling...
...wings for the helmet...
...I also added some color.
Those old bumps and scratches were no longer appropriate...
...I removed them (mainly with the Smooth brush).
One little light created something magical...
..a flying helmet.
I turned my attention to part two of the day...
...that other flying thing...
...the owl...
I established the fluffy feel of the feathers with a procedural Wave texture...Nothing fancy, there was no time for experimentation...
It definitely needed to be tempered a bit here...
Finally I put them together in the moonlight...
...and then the impossible happened...the owl fell in love at first sight!
